The Key to Successful Dating Introductions

When I go out on the town, looking for that special someone to spend some time with, I’m always thinking of new and interesting things to say.   Why?  Because if you have something clever or funny at the ready, then you‘ve got what it takes for a lifetime of successful dating introductions.

Men and women on the dating circuit are very picky creatures.  Consider your own reaction when someone of the opposite sex approaches you.  You judge them on how they move, how they look, what they are wearing, how they smell.  You do all of this unconsciously, and immediately.  Before the potential suitor has even opened his or her mouth, you’ve got an opinion formed.

But now consider the effect that the right words can have.  Maybe you don’t like “the look” of someone that is approaching you, and you are making up an excuse not to talk to them.  But if that person says something clever or funny for their style of dating introductions, it may be just what the doctor ordered!
By telling jokes, or making a witty observation, you yourself can make that change in someone’s mind.

Regardless of how you look and what you’re wearing, you can always start the conversation off right.  Remember this when you are trying to meet someone.  Don’t tell her that she’s beautiful (save that for later!) or that he’s dreamy.  Instead, try a knock-knock joke.  It will ease the tension, and make the interaction less about trying to pick someone up and more about trying to get to know them.
This doesn’t work for everyone.  Maybe you don’t even need to tell jokes because you are so good looking.  But for every Fabio, there is a dozen Jerry Seinfelds, and we could all use a date.
